preCharge News MICHIGAN — Authorities say all lanes on US-23 near M-14 in Washtenaw County were closed down on Friday following a multi-vehicle crash that involved a semi-truck.
The accident has created a massive traffic jam for drivers in Washtenaw County.
“I got off M-14, went territorial, and that was a mess. It was pretty backed up,” said Paul.
At about 5:30 p.m., police say a semi-truck crossed the median and struck a car on US-23 just north of M-14. CBS News Detroit’s Eye in the Sky chopper caught a glimpse of the miles-long backup on M-14.
Michigan State Police were at the scene of the crash. Reports of any injuries are unknown.
All lanes reopened late Friday night.
“If you have to get through that area, and you’ve got to plan for it,” said Paul.
Many drivers got off of M-14 and took an alternate route home on their Friday commute before they hit that traffic jam. Janet Kreger from Ann Arbor said she always sees more accidents on that section of road.
“Right around Ann Arbor, it has a curve, an incline, and it has other points of entry with cars coming in that have to blend into traffic. It’s posted at 60 miles per hour, and people are just barreling through,” Kreger said.
It is still unknown what led to that crash.
