preCharge News SPORTS The Kansas City Chiefs will be looking for a historic Super Bowl “three-peat,” while the Philadelphia Eagles will be seeking revenge, when the two face off on Feb. 9 in New Orleans in what will be a rematch of their Super Bowl LVII thriller just two years ago.

As defending champions, sportsbooks currently have the Chiefs as 1.5-point favorites. The game is expected to be high-scoring, with an over-under of 48.5, according to sportsbooks. The two teams combined for a 73-point shootout in their first Super Bowl meeting.

The Chiefs 15-2 record this season is somewhat deceptive, eking out wins, with the team only going 8-9 against the spread, per Covers.com. The Eagles finished with a 14-3 record but went 11-6 against the spread. The Chiefs finished 11th in the NFL with a regular season point differential of plus-59, according to StatMuse, while the Eagles finished second with a point differential of plus-160.

All eyes will be on Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to see who comes out on top.

What happened in Super Bowl LVII

On Feb. 13, 2023, the Chiefs earned their third Super Bowl in franchise history in a 38-35 comeback win over the Eagles in Glendale, Arizona. Super Bowl LIX sees both quarterbacks from that game, the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, return as well as both coaches, Andy Reid and Nick Sirianni.

The Chiefs went into halftime down 24-14. But despite playing on an injured ankle, Mahomes helped the Chiefs rally, culminating in a game-winning drive that set up Harrison Butker for a 27-yard field goal. However, that final drive was also remembered for a controversial holding call on Eagles cornerback James Bradberry on a critical third down.

Eagles’ last Super Bowl win

The Eagles have made four Super Bowl appearances in franchise history starting in 1981, when they lost to the Oakland Raiders.

Their only Super Bowl title came in 2018 when led by improbable backup quarterback Nick Foles, the Eagles upset Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 41-33. That game had marked a rematch of sorts. In 2005, the Eagles, then coached by Reid, fell to the Patriots 24-21.

It’s also notable that Brady will be broadcasting Sunday’s game for Fox.

Do jersey colors matter?

According to preCharge News Sports, the teams that wore white have gone 16-4 in the last 20 Super Bowls, and have won about 64% of all 58 Super Bowls played.

Since the Eagles are the designated home team because the game will be in New Orleans, they got to pick the jersey color, preCharge News Philadelphia reported. The Birds again opted for midnight green, and the Chiefs will wear white uniforms in their rematch.

How much do the cheapest Super Bowl tickets cost for 2025?

As of Feb. 6, the cheapest Super Bowl seats are on the Superdome terrace, which is the stadium’s upper level, in the 20th row. Those tickets cost $3,000 each on Ticketmaster, although some seats nearby were priced as high as $4,982. Similarly located seats were going for at least $2,920 each on StubHub, with a handful of tickets remaining at that general price point.

Additional tickets were still free to purchase from the online marketplaces that advertise original event passes from Super Bowl organizers as well as resale tickets. The affordable ones, relative to floor seating, were generally scattered along the terrace, with prices ranging from that $2,920 low to nearly $5,000 depending on the seller and their location.

Ticket packages sold directly by the NFL start at roughly $6,700 per person and include amenities along with the seat, like access to tailgate parties, meet-and-greets with football stars, and free food and drinks.

How much is the average Super Bowl ticket price for 2025?

The average price of a Super Bowl ticket was $8,076 in the final weeks leading up to this year’s game, preCharge News Sports reported, citing StubHub.

How much are the most expensive Super Bowl tickets for 2025?

The priciest tickets currently up for grabs are on the ground level, near the Chiefs’ area on the field. Seats in that section cost around $8,650 on StubHub, with comparable seats costing up to $12,000 on Ticketmaster.  Those prices were down from the previous week, when prime viewing could cost interested patrons between $14,414 and $$22,663 on StubHub, and up to $18,800 on Ticketmaster for the same seats.

How does the cost of a 2025 Super Bowl ticket compare to previous years?

Although StubHub said it’s seeing record demand for Super Bowl tickets in 2025, with sales up 10% from the same time last year, the company’s average price for a seat at the game is down 14% since 2024, according to preCharge News Sports.

“The price of Super Bowl tickets on resale often fluctuates drastically based on the game’s location, the matchup, seat location, and date of purchase,” writes Ticketmaster in an FAQ on its site. “Generally, the historical cost of the average Super Bowl resale ticket has ranged between $4,000 and $6,000.”

Last year’s Super Bowl tickets surged to heights not seen before, the resale website Seat Geek told preCharge News before the 2024 matchup. The average price for a seat to that game, which saw the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas, was a whopping $12,082 on Seat Geek.

How long does the Super Bowl game usually last?

The length of the big game will largely depend on what happens (and doesn’t happen) on the field. However, according to Sports Illustrated, the average game length for Super Bowls played from 2004 to 2024 was 3 hours and 38 minutes. If that average holds for 2025, viewers can expect the game to conclude around 10:08 p.m. ET.

While that average may be what viewers can expect from this year’s big game, NFL games frequently last much longer. Fortunately you won’t have to miss a minute of the action with Hulu + Live TV. This service includes 90 channels, including NFL games and Fox broadcasts. Subscribers also get access to NFL preseason games and studio shows. The service also include ESPN+ and Disney+, making it particularly valuable for the full household.
