preCharge News FLORIDA A man was fatally stabbed outside a downtown Miami restaurant Wednesday afternoon and Miami police are searching for the suspect.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. outside Cacique Restaurant at 112 W. Flagler St.

Authorities said the victim, a man in his 40s or 50s, got into an altercation with another man, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the armpit.

The victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but later died, police said. His identity has not yet been released.

Adrian Fernandez, who works in the area and knew the victim, said the neighborhood can be dangerous.

“You see a lot. Sometimes I get off work around 5:30 or 6, and you see arguing, you see people in bags. It just gets a little tense,” Fernandez said. “I think the city needs to do something to clean this area up so it can be safer for locals.”

As of Wednesday evening, the suspect remained at large. Authorities have not provided a description.

This is the second stabbing in the city of Miami in as many days.

On Tuesday, a man was fatally stabbed inside a trolley shortly before 3 p.m. near Biscayne Boulevard and NE 29th Street.
