preCharge News POLITICS — U.S. President Donald Trump has landed in Beijing for a highly anticipated presidential summit with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.

Trump is being accompanied on the trip by executives from some of America’s most valuable companies, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Nvidia chief Jensen Huang.

The president was greeted on the tarmac by a brass band and flag wavers who performed as he descended the steps of Air Force One.

Trump Schedule Includes Bilateral Talks and State Banquet

On Thursday, Trump is scheduled to participate in a formal welcome ceremony and hold a bilateral meeting with Xi before touring the historic Temple of Heaven and attending a state banquet.

The president is expected to leave China on Friday following tea and a working lunch with Xi.

Tariffs, AI and Taiwan Expected to Dominate Summit Talks

The high-stakes discussions between the two leaders are expected to cover tariffs, rare earth minerals, artificial intelligence, the Iran war and Taiwan.

Analysts and officials are closely watching whether the summit produces new agreements aimed at easing economic tensions between Washington and Beijing after years of trade disputes and strategic rivalry.

Possible Boeing and Soybean Deals Could Emerge

Experts anticipate Trump and Xi could announce large Chinese purchases of American products, including Boeing aircraft and U.S. soybeans, following the talks.

In a Truth Social post earlier this week, Trump said he expected “great things” to come out of the summit.

Sen. Steve Daines, a Republican from Montana who recently traveled to China with a congressional delegation, said both governments have strong incentives to stabilize relations.

“It is in both leaders’ interest to keep the relationship stable, and to de-escalate, not decouple,” Daines said Wednesday on CNBC.

“We hope to see some kind of trade deals come out. I think it will be Boeing, beef and beans,” he added.

Global Markets Watching for Signals on U.S.-China Relations

Investors and international allies are closely monitoring the summit for signs of progress on trade policy, export controls and geopolitical disputes.

The meeting comes as the United States and China continue competing for dominance in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors while also navigating tensions tied to Taiwan and broader Indo-Pacific security concerns.

Rare Earths and Semiconductor Supply Chains in Focus

Rare earth exports and semiconductor supply chains are expected to play a major role in negotiations, particularly as U.S. technology firms expand investment in AI infrastructure and advanced chip manufacturing.

The presence of executives such as Musk and Huang underscores the growing importance of technology diplomacy in U.S.-China relations.
