
preCharge News POLITICS — An explosion at one of the entrances to the United States Embassy Oslo is under investigation after a blast early Sunday morning in Oslo, Norwegian police said.
Authorities reported no injuries or fatalities, and the building sustained only minor damage.
Police said the explosion occurred around 1 a.m. local time, when residents reported hearing a loud bang near the embassy compound.
Norwegian Police Search for Suspects
Dogs, Drones and Helicopters Deployed
Investigators from the Oslo Police District searched the surrounding area using police dogs, drones and helicopters in an effort to locate one or more possible perpetrators.
So far, authorities have not identified any suspects.
Officials also said there were no indications of an ongoing threat and that the surrounding neighborhood is safe for residents and investigators.

Investigators Examine Link to Middle East Tensions
Frode Larsen, head of the police investigation unit, told reporters the explosion could have been a deliberate act.
“It’s natural to see this in the context of the current security situation and that this could be an attack deliberately targeting the U.S. embassy,” Larsen said.
He later told Norway’s public broadcaster NRK that terrorism remains one of several possibilities under investigation.
“One of our hypotheses is that this is terrorism, but we are also exploring other options,” Larsen said.
Blast Hit Embassy Consular Entrance
Bomb Squad Investigating Cause
Police incident commander Michael Dellemyr said the explosion struck the entrance of the embassy’s consular section.
Speaking to TV 2 Norway, Dellemyr said investigators are still determining exactly what caused the blast.
“We will not comment on the type of damage or what exploded because it is very early in the investigation,” he said.
TV2 reported that a bomb squad was deployed to examine the site.
Dellemyr said police believe the incident appears to have been “an act carried out by someone.”

The explosion comes as U.S. diplomatic missions globally face increased security risks amid **Iran–related tensions and ongoing U.S. military operations.
Representative Rick Crawford, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told Fox News that the incident may have been a terrorist attack.
“We need to be very diligent about security, not only here at home but also at targets around the world where there are U.S. assets including embassies,” Crawford said.

Residents Saw Drones and Armed Officers
Residents near the embassy reported hearing a powerful explosion.
A 16-year-old resident identified as Edvard told TV2 he initially thought the sound came from inside his home.
“My mother and I first thought it came from our house,” he said. “Then we saw flashing lights outside the window and a ton of police.”
He described seeing police dogs, drones, helicopters and armed officers responding to the incident.
