1 person in critical condition after police shooting in Echo Park

preCharge News CALIFORNIA — Parademics took one person to the hospital on Monday after officers from the Los Angeles Police Department opened fire in Echo Park.

Investigators said the shooting happened near a bus stop in the area of Cornado Street and Bellevue Avenue after officers received a call for a mentally ill man with a gun. Paramedics took the man to the hospital in a critical condition after the shooting.

Officers said they found a BB gun at the scene.
